Clomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) commonly used off-label in men to treat low testosterone (hypogonadism) and infertility.

It works by blocking estrogen receptors in the brain, which increases the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland.

This, in turn, stimulates the testes to produce more testosterone and sperm.

Uses in Men:
Treatment of secondary hypogonadism (low testosterone with low/normal LH and FSH)
Preservation or improvement of fertility in men wishing to avoid testosterone-induced suppression of sperm production

Typical Dose: 25–50 mg orally every other day (dosing may vary based on clinical response)

Common Side Effects:
Visual disturbances, mood changes, headaches, gynecomastia (rare), and gastrointestinal upset
